NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT IN HOURS, NOT WEEKS

Indalex’s concept design solution helped New England Ladder reduce costs by designing a rung lock as a common part for both aluminum and fibreglass extension ladders.
The design was created in hours, not weeks thanks to Indalex’ s virtual design engineering solution.
New England’s Director of New Products simply turned on his office computer, accessed his Internet connection and dialed the telephone number of the Indalex design engineer. He watched – and participated in the collaborative process - as the rung lock idea in his head was transformed into a precisely-designed component.
Virtual engineering combines the skill of a highly-trained Indalex design engineer with an Internet-based forum, auto-cad design software and teleconferencing capabilities. It allows extruded aluminum parts to be brainstormed, designed, changed, reviewed and approved by as many as 15 different people working together on-line in various locations around the world.
By file-sharing, the Director of New Products at New England Ladder in New Haven, CT and the Indalex design engineer in Toronto had the same information on their computer screens and designed the part together over the telephone. They shared ideas, saved time and produced a rung lock with impressive accuracy.
The opportunities to have exactly the extruded shape you need without compromising the design and intent of your component or product are virtually limitless with Indalex’s design engineering solution.
